Rigidity and a quick connection make AMI's Rigitator® portable agitator suitable for even the most demanding environments. Rigitator ® is for shops that like to put tanks on-line immediately, schedule minimal downtime for cleaning and maintenance, and often skip cleaning between fills. These shops rank quick changeover, durability, and low maintenance as their top three concerns.

 

To deliver an agitator with these attributes, AMI designed Rigitator with two sets of sealed double-row bearings. The design holds the shaft rock solid and allows no radial movement. Consequently, the double-lip seal and dust shield at the bottom of the bearing housing wear very slowly and continue to prevent paint and debris from getting inside the mechanism, well past the time when other seals have failed. Moreover, the long-lasting seal helps the tank to hold pressure during use and to exceed DOT and UN transportation regulations.

 

When the time comes for cleaning, the job is quick and easy because the double-lip seal keeps the bearings clean. The surfaces needing attention are only those that are large, smooth, and polished. Putting the tank back on-line is even easier with AMI's Auto Lock attachment. Operators connect Rigitator to mixer drives quickly with a simple place-and-twist motion. The Auto Lock socket snaps into place automatically on the hexagonal spindle fitting. The operator takes no other action, other than to look at the green for proper alignment. Auto Lock Attachment.

The spring-loaded socket snaps into place automatically and applies constant tension to prevent wear and accidental disengagement. The heat-treated stainless steel attachment comes with either a solid shank for the Universal chuck in AMI's line of drives or a standard four-dog coupling to fit other mixer drives.

 

Heavy-Duty Custom Covers.

The 10-gauge stainless steel covers withstand the abuse typically encountered in transit and on the plant floor. They are easy to clean and come with any number and types of fittings to satisfy the user's safety and maintenance needs.

 

Ergonomic Bearing Housing.

Made of either 304 or 316 stainless steel, the housing has a streamlined profile to give the operator a lighter load to handle. Its generous machined radii and smooth finish prevent material from collecting and simplify cleaning.

 

TGP Shaft.

Made of 316 stainless steel and custom-cut for the tank's depth, the 1" turned, ground, and polished shaft is smooth to aid cleaning.

 

Replaceable Impeller Blades.

Four styles of blades and a variety of sizes are available.

 

Polished Surfaces.

An optional electrochemical process can polish all surfaces. The resulting shiny exterior is both smooth and passivated, making it easy to clean and resistant to rust and other forms of chemical attack. In addition to being resistant to wear and impervious to paint, Rigitator is a self-contained unit. This means AMI can supply the unit either with its heavy-duty 10-gage covers or as retrofit kits for users to attach to their current covers. Installation requires no welding. The only preparation necessary is boring a hole for the bearing housing and drilling four bolt holes. Bolts in the kit hold the flange and bearing housing together, sandwiching the O-ring and cover between them to create a tight, DOT/UN regulation seal.

 

Bearing Cap.

Seals the bearing, and protects the hexagonal spindle end.

 

Rugged Hexagonal Connection.

Provides the largest surface area available in a standard geometry to maximize torque capacity and minimize wear.

 

Low Profile.

No guards are necessary. The tank's stacking ears are high enough to protect Rigitator and other devices on the cover.

 

Mounting Flange.

Using four 5/16-18 bolts, this 304 or 316 stainless steel flange holds the bearing housing against the cover and aligns the shaft and drive spindle concentrically within 0.003".

 

Heavy-Duty Locking Lugs.

The 304 stainless steel lugs fit in precision-machined grooves for adding strength and ensuring concentricity.

 

Teflon-Encapsulated O-Ring.

Maintains a regulation seal for the life of most tanks, and eliminates the need for expensive custom gaskets. O-rings made of other materials are available.

Sealed Double-Row Bearings.

Spread as far apart as practical for maximum rigidity, the bearings absorb radial forces and eliminate lateral movement of the shaft. No movement means no wear and tear on the lip seals.

 

Double-Lip Seal.

The pressed in seal and dust cover assembly keeps product out of the bearing housing and simplifies cleaning. It is instrumental in maintaining the regulation seal.

 

Strategic Spacer.

Fills the void between the bearings to enhance rigidity.
